Warning: Many big screenies after the cut!

You know you've all seen it while flying to Moonglade from various places - that wacky village of dancing trolls in the bottom of a valley at the point of Darkshore, Moonglade, Winterspring, Felwood, and Hyjal.

What is it's purpose?

I say WHO CARES, IT'S A LOT OF TROLLS! Trolls are my favourite race. The males have the most awesome laugh and emotes, and the ladies are just badass. A place with yonks and yonks of neutral ones? I wasn't about to question Blizzard's logic in giving me this place of awesomeness, I just went and enjoyed the view. :) )

That was my trip! Jazzed at the experience of being in a place I maaaybe wasn't supposed to, Adina and I tried to get into Hyjal. Two 49's running around that gorge? AHAHAHA. Yeah, that didn't last long. :) I'll just tough out the inevitable grind to experience the CoT version of Hyjal (which looks effing awesome, homg).

AND

I finally remembered to take screenshots in the battlegrounds. I was reminded by one cheeky Akama rogue, who made his presence known by sapping me IN MY OWN GRAVEYARD, emoting, and running away.

Ahmagad I just had the most hilarious time in emergency room.

Apparently I have pneumonia (which just materialised from NOWHERE I am sayin). I would have been home hours ago if I hadn't just pitched over while waiting for [info]adinasauce and the truck.

All I remember is wakng up on the ground and panicking, because my precious, precious sick note from the doc was blowing away. Someone noticed and asked if I was okay, to which I remember going 'paper uwaaahdhsdkl' and passing out again.

They took me back for fluids and a catscan and made fun of me the whole time. :(

But at least I'm home now! :D

When everyone comes here in March, it's been decided that thar be some comedy improv goin' on here.

There is a bunch of theatre and fun minded people on my flist, so I'll ask!

I have run improv in small groups before with great success, but now I have six people besides myself to torture play with.

I have very few ideas, however. When trying to remember the games I used to play in Florida I draw.. a big blank. I remember What're You Doing?, Chain Murder (my fav), No Questions, Six Degrees (excellleeent), Secret Agendas..

I'm looking for big group games to get everyone involved so as to let the shybies see that hey, everyone looks a little dumb but it's ok!

I need game suggestions. And also, warmups. I remember most of them (Alien Tiger Cow!) but I know I'm missing a lot of fun ones.

So.. through a strange twist of fate, I got food poisoning!

I'm still not sure it actually was, or just a bug, but it seemed to fit the symptoms I had last year. I was getting out of the shower one minute, and woke up on the floor the next. Proceeded to puke my brains out for the next seven hours, etc etc.

Well, I puked my brains out at work for seven hours.

After calling everyone in the entire district of St Paul, not one employee in the whole town would come trade off with me.

I AM NEVER EVER working for anyone ever again unless they are lying on their deathbed with a priest givin' em last rites. (Kudos to anyone who gets that reference :()

Fuckers. :|

Ooookay!

People coming to Maxina Detour (IT IS A GOOD NAME), we trawled about town today for hotels and hit a few places up.

The Thunderbird, where Anime Detour is taking place, is sadly sold out in all rooms the 22-26th of March. :(

HOWEVER! The Courtyard Marriot, A-dawg's former place of work, does have rooms! The CY Marriot is wicked close to both the Mall of America and the Thunderbird.

For two connecting rooms: 99$ a night. 99 x 8 = 792. Split 5 ways = 159 a piece. D:

If we manage to wrangle some sort of employee discount, it's most likely 39$ a night. split five ways = 63 a piece.

One room, full rate, split five ways: 80 a piece.

W/ employee discount: 32 a piece.

As of right now these are our options, with six people in a room (still split five ways - importing a Mexican is costly enough!). There is a possibility of moooar people coming but I think we should decide based on who have now.

Consider:

If you think flying in on the Friday of the con would be better, it'd be 3 nights ($46 for two and $24 for one room w/ employee discount).

There could be a lot of people on the floor with one room (..and one bathroom).

At least two of us are smokers. (There is no smoking rooms but we'd be on ur balcony, getting sum nicotines.)

We put a hold on the two connecting rooms anyways while we figure this all out. Reservations can be cancelled up to a day before soooo.

Let's figure this out!

SO it appears I might have a gigantic sinus infection.

As far as sinuses go, my nose isn't stuffy.. there's not boogers spurting from my eyes..

But my jaw. Jesus Christ. It's been so bad I can't even eat or drink or talk. Work was REALLY FUN let me tell you. I went through an ENTIRE tube or orajel to no effect.

My back teeth on the left side feel like they're going to crack or rip themselves out and flee from all the pressure. Today it was so bad the pain went straight up my face to my forehead.

I thought maybe it was just my teeth, because, you know, I do brush everyday but they are not in the best shape. I haven't been to a dentist in years because of the cost, plus I have to have a week's worth of IV meds before I even step inside the office, which is even more costly. OnceI had to pull an adult tooth out by myself, and that was horrid.

(Incidentally, it was the year I had double pnuemonia and broke my foot and had two infected ingrown toenails.. along with my tooth deciding to crack and ooze.. at the same time. That month of GRIEF was one of the only times I ever won NaNoWriMo, go figure!)

..so ANYWAYS, I thought it might be my teeth. But orajel would have stopped that, you know? Plus, it's more centered in the middle of my jaw, and I get a hair-raising flash of pain when I clench my jaw. I feel something grinding and pinching at the bone. So it might even be TMJ, which would suck so much because I'm only 20 and don't want my jaw grinding to pieces, please! You know the more I look, the more it sounds like TMJ, boo..

BUT I took some sinus medicine as a last resort and suddenly everything hurt a lot less. Who knows?

I also thought it might be the changes in the weather, seeing as my jaw has been knocked to the point of cracking before, maybe I was getting weather aches! But nothing else was particularly achy.

So who knows? I think I will make tentative plans to see on Wednesday proving A-dawg and I are not zombies. Though.. I am bitter knowing how much it will cost. Not having insurance does quite suck, sometimes.

LET'S HOPE IT'S JUST A BOOGER BLOCK.

Hmmm!

[info]recession has brought it to my attention that Anime Detour (I keep typing that as 'Adina Detour') is coming up! March 23rd - 25th.

Which means that my 21st birthday is also smack in the middle of the con! Excellent!

So let's have a big con shindig! I'm inviting everyone! I really want this to be a cool birthday because it's my 21st and so many people have already said they'd want to be here.

This shindig would obviously involve hotel rooms, since as big as this house is it's ALWAYS under construction nowadays and I really don't want to see Mr GJ's head explode with 430980 people walking in and out. The Thunderbird is already booked up but there is always [info]adinasauce's former place of work, the Courtyard Marriot. It has shuttles to the MoA and we could probably nag the driver into dropping us off at the T-bird (but if not it has glorious warm underground parking!). Rates would depend on people, so we'd have to get on this asap!

And of course.. cosplay. If a lot of Midgard people come, I think it'd be cool to do a RO/Midgard themed group. We could even enter the masquerade as a Ragnarok group, haaa.

So who would come?

A tentative list:

You know how they say on solstice days you're supposed to be able to balance an egg perfectly?

Me: (egg in hand, after seeing pretty pictures on APOD) So does that egg thing really work?
A-dawg: What egg thing?
Me: (pushes back tablecloth) Oh you know. That thing on the Solstice where you're supposed to be able to (sets egg down casually) bal-
Egg: SUP I'M HUGE STANDING STRAIGHT.
A-dawg & Me: omg
Me: omg
A-dawg: This is a little creepy.
Me: You are seeing this right.
A-dawg: I so am.

After I picked it up to look at the table, I couldn't do it again. Maybe it was a fluke! Maybe it was WEIRD SPACE WAVES, or incredibly lucky on the first try!

Either way? It was still pretty cool and weird!

I beat Final Fantasy 12!

My party for the whole final battle was Balthier [greatsword], Vaan [sword], and Ashe [bow]. They were all level 55.

Balthier had the upper liscence board mastered, Ashe and Vaan had everything except techniks. They all had like.. uh.. 1/4 of the equipment done.

The REST of my party was 15, 15, and 17. By the time I finished Fran had almost 3k lp unused. :D;;

I have so many things to write about, but this is the most important one. Today is December 1st. For those of you playing at home, today is:
World AIDS Day

Every one of you has heard of HIV/AIDs. A great many of you know or have known a person with HIV/AIDs. This year brings a grim anniversary, marking twenty-five years of HIV/AIDS history.

HIV/AIDS is not going away. While the disease has gone from a death sentence to a somewhat manageable longterm illness, it continues to infect millions each year.

It does not discriminate. Gay, straight, black, white, Christian and Muslim, HIV/AIDS affects us all.

There is no cure. While modern medicine has evolved to treat every symptom and sign of this disease, nothing will stop it completely.

The theme of this World AIDS Day is 'Stop AIDs, Keep the Promise'. What am I doing to Keep the Promise?

I've been waiting since, oh, mid-October to announce it. 1.5 months and ten panicked e-mails with the director of ALC (which is why it took so long to post this) later, I can announce..

From June 03-09, I will be riding almost 550 miles from SF to LA as part of AIDS/Lifecycle.

My Mission Statement. )

I would ask right now that if any one of you ever thought of giving me anything to please donate to my fund. As of right now I don't have a participant number because I'm not registered officially, but I intend to be fully set up by Christmas (or whenever I get reimbursed for el bike-o to pay the fee) so people can start donating.

Along with having my own assigned cycling buddy I'm sure as hell not doing this alone. I have a Lifecycle filter set up to write about my experiences, comment if you'd like to be added onto it. I'm also bound and determined to get everyone involved in tiny ways.. so let's start with something easy.

What should I name my bike? It is a white mountain bike (I am far too rough for any delicate pansy road bike, sorry) with a splash of pink on it. No, I didn't really have a lot of colours to choose from, heh.
